2022: Designer Gift Guide

With Christmas and the holiday season approaching, I wanted to pass along a few of my favorite finds specifically for graphic designers.

Whether you are buying a gift for yourself, a designer pal, or need a gift idea for yourself when someone texts you asking for ideas, you’ll likely find something here that entices you!

Each of the 10 gift ideas below is from designers and small shops that you’ll feel good about supporting.

1: The Typeset Co. — Magnetic alphabet letters… in designer-approved fonts? Yes, please! Better yet? Ashley, a former owner of a standout design studio, is a small business owner you would love to support!

2: Ugmonk — High-quality organizational tools, desk accessories, and more. All are well designed with impeccable craftsmanship made in the U.S.A.

3: Appointed — Beautiful colors, quality, and designed paper goods.

4: Designing Graphic Props for Filmmaking — This book has made its way to my top-referenced design inspiration books. Annie Atkins designs props for films and reveals her process and designs in this book. Bonus: If you’re a fan of Wes Anderson movies, here’s your sneak peek into the designs behind a few of their films :).

5: Russell + Hazel — My go-to for binders and paper goods. I’ve purchased their mini binders for the past decade or so!

6: Best Self — The Self Journal is a great tool to help you set and achieve goals. I’ve used their method before and found it so helpful!

7: Loise Fili Books — You can’t go wrong with any of these books! Each one is full of inspiration that you’ll reference for years to come.

8: Parse & Parcel — I’ve gifted myself the Parcel which includes print design samples + inspiration, and truly enjoyed it! Such a fun treat to appreciate highly curated design inspo in print.

9: Uppercase — Lovely designer books and magazines. The magazine is such a fun treat each time I purchase it. I’ve also had my eyes on a few of the Encyclopedia books!

10: National Parks Poster — Steve Wolf, one of my favorite brand designers, has a shop full of beautifully designed items. I purchased the national parks poster for my boys’ room, and can’t wait to hang it up!
